Meet Ron F, the owner of this 1964 EH Holden which features for the month of August in our Club Plus Calendar for 2017. Ron has shared with us some more detail on his car!
What work has been completed on the car?
This car is my ‘Pride and Joy’. I get great satisfaction out of having done all the work on the car myself except for the upholstery.
I bought the EH back in 1990. Looking to improve on the original standard EH I wanted a more efficient and powerful engine and drive train – so I fitted a 3 Litre. Nissan motor from a VL Commodore, also fitted a Toyota Celica 5 Speed steel case gearbox, a Ford Falcon differential plus a shortened axle to suit, Leyland P76 front disc brakes, front bucket seats from a Mazda 626 and 15 x 7 Wheels.
This car was one of the first to fit a late model EFI motor in an early model car.
What is your favourite Supercheap Auto product to use on your vehicle?
Having a Supercheap store in Wagga Wagga is very handy to obtain plenty of Polishes and Tyre shine to keep the car in prestige condition.
As a member of the Junee Motor Club I exhibit my car at local show and shine displays. Using SCA cream cut and polish plus SCA tyre shine wet look, keeps my EH looking good for the events I attend.
What does the car mean to you?
I think the EH Holden is the best Holden of all time. I’m proud to own one.
What would you like to do next on your vehicle?
At this stage I’m happy to leave the the EH the way it is.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
Besides owning my EH I also have a 1974 XB Ford Falcon Coupe and a 1995 EF XR6 Ford Falcon Sedan.
