Meet Ray Macri, the owner of this 1980 VC Holden Commodore which features for the month of August in our Club Plus Calendar for 2016. We’ve asked Ray to share a little more detail on his ride…
We have owned the car for around 3 years and have never really driven it too far. The photo I sent in for the Club Plus Calendar competition is the only one to be taken of it outside before being placed into its purpose built showroom. The car itself is all original with only 85 000klm on it, with all the modifications taken place on the motors internals with around 20k parts and labour but still retains its original appearance.
As far as I can tell there are only around 350-370 cars of this model still circulating with the black 4 speed being the rarest, with only 59 black cars produced and only a small number of them being 4 speed manual.
I have used carbon wrap on my other car but not on this one and plan to join a car club with the completion off a VH SLE I’m restoring at the moment!
Keep an eye out in September as we talk with Colin Falso about his 1966 Ford Mustang!
