Meet Mick Blackmore, the owner of this 2012 Harley Davidson Wideglide which features for the month of November in our Club Plus Calendar for 2016! Mick’s shared with us some more detail on his bike!
Power for passing and hill-climbing, re-established in 2010 the 2012 Harley Wideglide FXDWG is all about attitude. I’ve had the bike for four years, bought back in April 2012. I’ve done very little non-standard upgrades on the bike, it runs a 1690cc (103ci) Harley engine, with a screaming eagle tuner. It has Vance and Hines slip-on pipes and an aftermarket air cleaner. I’ve fitted a custom rear seat an rear backrest and mirrors.
The Wideglide, while not the flashiest bike available, it is one of the best handling bikes Harley makes, it’s definitely the “Mechanics friend”, they are relatively easy to access parts and work on. The bike has tough, dark styling and a retro feel allowing a confident ride every time. I am a member of the Harley Owner Group (HOG) Bendigo Chapter a group filled with dedicated riders bound by the passion of their bikes and the friendships that are generated. We meet monthly for a unique ride. Also Red Knights Motorcycle Club (for firefighters only).
The bike was named after the mascot that sits on the headlight, it is a black gorilla labelled Boris, friends say we look similar…
Stay tuned until December, where we talk to Leis Kovacevic about his 2007 Mazda 3 MPS, the final feature in our Club Plus Calendar for 2016!
