Before you throw anything out as part of your next big garage or shed clean up, put your creativity cap on set yourself a challenge and create something unique utilizing all the junk parts. Some people call this ‘up-cycling’ or ‘re-purposing’, it’s become quite popular as it gives you a chance to recycle and get creative – it’s a win win!

The DIY Tailgate Bench
You could make yourself an outdoor bench using an old tailgate. You could pick up one from the local tip shop or pick-a-part if you’re lucky enough to find your favourite make – or check out eBay to find some older models. There are plenty of vintage tailgates for sale.
All you’ll need to do now is grab some paint if you want to give it a new finish, find an old frame from a bench to re-purpose, or build your own from scratch. Sound simple enough?

Have you seen these before? They’re a very popular project in the DIY world. Pallets are a widely used recycling material for home and garden use in making furniture, because the possibilities are endless. The DIY pallet arm chair is a pretty straight forward project which looks the part.

This is a great idea if you’ve got an odd collection of plates that are sitting there collecting dust – put them on show! Make yourself some number plate clipboards for your office space. Grab some bulldog clips, attach them to the top of the number plate, mount them to the wall and there you have it. Too easy!
