Supercheap Auto Racing’s Tim Slade is looking to come back from a tough start to Winton SuperSprint with more pace for tomorrow’s 200km race.
Slade admits the #47 Supercheap Auto Racing Commodore wasn’t running at its full potential in today’s twin 60km dashes, finishing Race 10 in 19th, and narrowly missing out on a top 10 in Race 11 with an 11th place.
“Hopefully we can have a bit more speed tomorrow and be up the pointy end,” Slade said.
“We have to look at a lot of things tonight and work out what we need to go faster in the morning.
“We tried a few different things today but don’t really have a clear direction for tomorrow yet.”
A 200km feature takes place tomorrow, with compulsory stops for tyres and fuel.
“There’s quite a lot of strategy to it, so I’m hoping it plays our way. You still need a quick car to get a decent result in the longer races, so we’ll look to unlock some over night,” Slade said.
A final practice session takes place from 10:55am, with a 20-minute qualifying session at 11:55, and the 67-lap finale from 1:45pm.
